How to reset galaxy buds

Samsung galaxy buds are, counted As top-level wireless Bluetooth earbuds. A direct competitor of Apple’s  AirPods. In terms of design, sound, features, and ease of use. But as it is an old saying, with every good experience, a little bit of compromise is required. The same adage also applies to galaxy earbuds. Such as, You might encounter Some minor errors sometimes while using it with your device then there is a need for troubleshooting as you do on your PC, laptops, phone, etc. these devices are Big And, come with easy-to-use options but, when it comes to troubleshooting such a small size device as earbuds, it becomes difficult as most people do not know how to do it, in this article I will cover all these steps, along with other tricks & tips as well.

  • It does not reconnect with a previously paired device

If, You find any one of these issues with your earbuds. I would recommend restarting your buds because, It is essential for troubleshooting as a first step, as it helps, in most cases, solving minor issues.


How To Restart Galaxy Buds:


Restarting the buds is simple enough. All You need to do is to put the buds into the charging case and again open it. Before You Restart, Make sure your buds have 30% to 40% power If not. Then You need to charge it.


  1. Put the buds into the charging Case and Close the Case for at least 10 to 15 seconds.
  2. Open the case and take out the buds. Now connect it to your device and check if it has solved the issue.


This simple Step called Restart solves minor problems and does not erase the storage. That is why, before a reset, You must give it a try. If restarting does not fix your buds, The Second Step is to do a Hard reset.


How To Reset Galaxy Buds (factory reset):

A reset means the operation of the hardware components. It formats only hardware. Consequently, It will erase The data from your buds-storage. Not only that, The connectivity setting between your device & buds also. Even the Galaxy wearable app in your device will not recognize your buds, so you will have to set it up again. Follow the steps For a reset. 

For Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds+, and Galaxy Buds Live:

  1. Charge your galaxy buds to the full
  2. Go to the galaxy wearable app on your device & Open it.
  3. Scroll down & find the 'General' option Tap on it.
  4. Tap on reset, again Tap on reset to confirm.
For Gear IconX:
  1. Open the app, Tap on the setting, and then Tap on About Gear.
  2. Tap on reset Gear, then Tap on reset.

How to Reset Galaxy Buds on iPhone:


If you want to reset your galaxy buds+ And galaxy buds live, You can reset with the Buds app on an iPhone 7 or later with iOS 10 or higher.

  1. Go to the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ app on your iPhone & open it.
  2. Open the charging case of your galaxy buds near your iPhone
  3. Scroll down & find "about this earbuds" Tap on it.
  4. Click on "reset," again click on "reset," & click once more on "reset" That's it.

Pairing Galaxy Buds to a Non-Samsung Device:


For connecting galaxy buds to a Samsung device, All you need to do is. Enable Bluetooth on your device A pop-up will appear on the screen asking for connecting. Tap on it, that's it.


But, when you want to connect your galaxy buds / Galaxy Buds+ to a non-Samsung Android device, Your mobile must be running Android OS 5.0 or higher with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.


  1. Go to the play store & download the galaxy wearable app.
  2. Put the buds into their corresponding slot & close the charging case. Open it near your mobile after a few seconds.

The buds will automatically enter into pairing mode, open the galaxy wearable app, & follow the on-screen instruction, Once it will connect. The next time, It will automatically connect when you open it near your paired device.



Galaxy Buds Not Connecting to Wearable App:


If your Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, or Gear IconX earbuds. Are not connecting to the wearable app, the first step is "perform a restart" on your earbuds' If it does not fix, then reset the Bluetooth connection, or update the Galaxy Wearable app.


Reset the Bluetooth Profile:

  1. Go to the setting of your device & select apps > select Bluetooth from the list
  2. Select storage & click on it > click on Clear Cache > go back & restart your device


Update the Apps of your Device:

Before updating the galaxy wearable App, Try some steps such as 'Force quit' 'Clear app cache' 'Delete app data' 'reset app preferences' 'uninstall & reinstall' as these steps also fix minor bugs.


  1. Go to the play store of your device & open it.
  2. Click The More settings icon at the upper left (three horizontal lines).
  3. Select apps & games & click on it > click Update or Update All.

How to Turn on Active Noise Canceling:


While listening to music and calls, background noise distracts the focus. To avoid distraction and focus better on what you hear. The active noise cancellation feature helps you concentrate on your work.


You can activate this feature in two ways on the buds themselves and from the wearable app.


  1. If you want to enable active noise canceling (ANC) on the buds, touch one of the buds and hold till you hear a beep, that means > Activated If you want to disable it, touch and Hold till you hear a sound different from a beep.
  1. If you want to active it from your wearable app, Go to the app on your device, and open it. Next to active noise canceling, there is a switch. Tap on it. The same beep sound plays here as on the buds. To disable it, Tap the swItch again.
  1. You can also activate this feature (ANC) on a single earbud. Go to the wearable app in your device Tap on touch control Tap on left or right which one you want to enable or disable.

Pair Your Earbuds to a PC or Other Bluetooth Device:


You can use galaxy earbuds even on those devices that do not support wearable apps such as a computer, watch, and iPhone.


  1. Put your buds in the charging case and close it for 7 to 8 seconds and open it. They will enter into pairing mode.
  2. Go to the Bluetooth setting of your device and Tap on Galaxy Buds,

If. your buds are already connected to another device, in that case. Put both the buds into the ears & touch both the buds from your fingers & hold for few seconds. They will enter into pairing mode.



Pair your Earbuds to your Samsung Smartwatch:


You can also connect your galaxy buds to your smartwatch and thus manage the calls & listen to music on your watch.


  1. Go to setting to your watch > Connections > Tap on Bluetooth

Make sure the Bluetooth is on


  1. Put both the buds into the case & close it, again open it after 6 to 7 seconds. They will enter into pairing mode.
  1. If. your buds are already connected to another device, in that case. Put both the buds into the ears & touch both the buds from your fingers & hold for few seconds. They will enter into pairing mode.
  1. Tap BT audio or BT headset, and then select then your buds.
  1. Go to the setting icon and tap on it. Turn on both call audio and media audio. If. both are turned off, Your buds will not be audible.


Note: Audio output for phone call conversations on earbuds is only available with LTE watch models.
